| Last night's storms were pretty wild here in the NH seacoast-they beat the snot of my data center power feeds at work. I watched our two primary backup power arrays going crazy with all of the dips and spikes in our grid power feeds. After watching this for twenty minutes or so I finally fired up the genset on the roof and hit the emergency power off to the grid power. Burning a couple hundred dollars worth of natural gas is a lot cheaper than replacing dozens of AGM batteries. |

We got barely brushed here too. Hard rain and lots o' lightening for maybe 15 minutes then it was just balls humid again. My phone made the emergency broadcast sound and started yelling at me, never did that before so I got confused. hahaha Said potential for 11" of rain per hour, and CT had 2600 lightening strikes in the previous hour alone. My gf was at work, said 15000 in CT lost power or something like that. Naturally, I heard storm so I went fishing. Wrong kinda storm though . . . . I was hoping for at least a taste of a cold front.  
Anywho, hope anybody in the hard hit areas faired well. |
