| Our local range closed down a few months back and I'm left with nowhere to shoot. I have land available to me that I might be able to setup a small "range" to shoot at. I'm 85% sure there won't be a problem with me doing so, but I'm going to check first. I have a few questions about this. What would be a good way to setup a berm? I've seen people use tires and pour dirt on top of them. Is there more to it than that? I was thinking 8-10ft tall would be good. I know you have to be a certain distance from houses, but there aren't any within about 3/4 mile. |

the army/marines use a single stack for shoot houses without any issues.
also there was a test done, where it showed like 12 inches of sand stops pretty much all small arms. if you did a second wall of tires and sand, you are pretty much not going to have anything make it through. |
