Anyone going? I am gonna go sit in the back ground just to see whats going on. I want to see what the crowd looks like. I plan to take pictures.
Gotta go get my hair cut first though. |

I'd go but I'm working to pay the people who don't work..
The Boston Tea Party was a direct act of protest by American colonists demanding representation in the British government. They became known as the original patriots.
On Friday, February 27, a new generation of patriots will host Texas Tea Parties in cities across the state to reinvigorate that American and patriotic spirit – one that demands respect for individual rights and property. As the bailouts spiral out of control, we are forced to fund failed banks. With foreclosures on the rise, we are made the collateral of reckless spending. We say “ENOUGH!” This was from an e-mail I received about it. |

I went. Got there about 12:20. There were a couple of interesting speakers. I estimate the crowd at around ~200.
Its a start. I've never participated in a rally such as this so I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't impressed either. I know its hard for people to take off from work and I'm sure that contributed to the lackluster turn out. They are planning another one for July. Date and Location TBA. Before we use lead at high velocity, we should make good use of lead and ink at low velocity. 1) Do you know who represents you. If not, Find Out 2)When was the lat time you communicated with them? It's easy to call, email or write. You HAVE to do it or your just pissing into the wind by bitching here. 3)Will you support those candidates who do a good job or those who run in opposition to the losers in power? If your short on money, volunteer your time. 4)When you hear someone complain about congress or the president, ask them these questions and challenge them to step up to the task. I'd love to see a serious contingent of Arfcomers at the next Tea Party in July. Will you be there? Or will you find an excuse like my Arfcom shooting buddy who played hooky from work to go to the range instead.? |

I have no problem with protesting the gubment, but don't need to protest my job. |

I have no problem with protesting the gubment, but don't need to protest my job. No lie. My company's laying off and running some of the plants 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Not the time for me to be missing work. It's the old joke about why conservatives don't have huge protest rallies: they're all at work. |

Your points are well taken. I have the email address of the organizer and I'll pass your issues along.
By way of confession, I work downtown so I went on my lunch hour. When I know more about the details of the next Tea Party, I'll post them here. So, if it's after hours/weekend, you'll come right? 112 |

I would have liked to come, but I was way too busy at work. From what I've heard, these tea party protests have had a pretty impressive showing nationwide considering the short notice and the fact that the protesters are real people with real jobs, not the usual perpetually unemployed wastes of oxygen.
Obviously, there would be a hell of a lot more people there if there was a few weeks notice and it was held on a weekend so people who have jobs and lives can come. |
