New job is taking me from DFW to Houston.
We're here this weekend house hunting in the Sugar Land, Pearland, Friendswood area. I will be working in the south part of town. Do I need to leave my Cowboy and Ranger jerseys up north? I'm currently shooting clays much more these days so finding sporting clays and skeet fields are on the list. Any place to avoid in those areas listed above? -tvone |

It also has a pistol and rifle range, with a few steel reactive lane for pistols. Rifle ranges from 50-300 yards. If you qualify at 300 yards, there are 400 and 600 yards too. Membership at ASC, even for a family, is very reasonably priced. However, unless you are shooting multiple rounds of clays per week, paying the additional $ for a clays membership isn't worth it, just pay per round. A clays membership only saves you like $7 per round. You will find a higher caliber of clay shooter at Greater Houston by far. ASC comes will all the downsides of a public range. |

The west side of Pearland gets clogged with traffic on the weekends, especially in the vicinity of 288 and 518. I'd avoid anything near Cullen like the plague, too much stupidity leaks down that road from inside BW8. Be aware that Pearland and Friendswood have 2 school districts within their city limits. Most of the west side of Pearland goes to Alvin ISD, there are some lower rankings for AISD when compared to PISD. The school districts in Friendswood are split along county lines, Galveston County is FISD, that's where you want to be. Harris County is CCISD and funnels to Clear Brook HS. FISD will most likely rank higher in all the categories that matter. Feel free to PM me to discuss further. ETA: Welcome to town King's and Bakfish are both excellent places for good beer, King's is damn good German food. Bakfish is really laid back and family friendly if you have kids. |

You can shoot clays and 5-stand at PSC in Friendswood if you know a member. Saturday and Sunday mornings I believe - maybe $5 per round? I'm in Webster so it would be perfect but not willing to jump through the silly ass hoops so many clubs have. |

Is PSC as impossible to get a membership to as I'm imagining? (multiple year waits, member references, all of that stupid junk) I'm in Webster so it would be perfect but not willing to jump through the silly ass hoops so many clubs have. |
