I am wondering how everyone in MI is voting tomorrow.  Is MI considered a lost cause and a sure win for Sen. NObama?

Would my vote be just as well spend on a third party candidate?  What is the general consensus concerning the MI conservative vote?

Thanks

McCain, sorry I think a vote for the 3rd party is a wasted vote.  Not that JMc is the best choice, he is the only choice.

BHO cannot and should not get in office.  If he does I will not acknowledge him as my president.  He is not even eligible to be president, let alone be qualified.

McCain and generally Republican down the rest of the ballot, Cliff Taylor Supreme Court, No on pot prop 1 & No on embryonic stem cells prop 2, probably Scott Jenkins - Michigan State Board of Education, leaning Danialle Karmanos for Wayne State Board of Govs both of these education candidates solicited my vote as Republicans and are the only ones that have.

Slippery slope. Could lead to legalization and the continued degradation of our already screwed up society - maybe this is why the Dems are so jacked up - LOL!

I already voted against the democratic, socialist, racist, anti-American Barak Obama.

I voted Palin/McCain, the lesser of two evils.

I will be first in line at my polling station to vote against the Obamanation.

I'm for 1 personally.

There is no reason the government should have a say in a medication that will help people that have chronic pain or other medical problems. To put someone in jail that is in possession of the substance as a medication is a total waste of tax payers money and law enforcements time.

I'm not for the recreational use of any drug and consider myself ultra conservative.

However if there ever comes a time in my life where I'm in a $hit ton of pain and there is a chance that it will help me, I would like the legal option.

Maybe you guys can post the pro's and con's of this proposal to provide everyone with some help in deciding the issue.

By the way bustoff I think the Dirty Dems are just jacked up on stupid!LOL

Peace,Hiram

there are too many loopholes in prop one they should rewrite it and try again it will allow anyone to grow weed for a person who has a card sayint that it is legal for them. too many quack Docs that will give out the card too i work at a hospital and its bad enough with pain killers had a guy who would get 500 pain pills per month like you really need that many. It needs to be revised look at the secretary of state website and you can read about the full contents of prop 1 and 2. Straight ticket Republican here.

Don't throw away a vote on a 3rd party. McCains needs it. I'm voting yes on #1.
If it can help someone why not? If it's voted down you are creating more illegal & profitable drug traffic (or at least maintaining it). Also voting yes on 2, this has great
potential and may actually save you or someone you love.

I will agree and disagree with your position.  I plan on voting for Palin and most of the other republicans.

However, Prop 2 is a bad idea.  Now I know that it is toted as being bad by many prolife groups which really polarizes the prop for many people but there is more to it than that.

Prop 2 grants government funding for "embryonic stem cell research."  Why is this significant?  All prolife groups support "adult stem cell research."  These are two different areas of medical research and have been achieve drasticly different results.  Cures have been discovered in "adult stem cell research"  while none have been discovered using "embryonic stem cell" research.  Thus, much of the private funding has been cut from "embryonic SCR" and those who support it feel that it is ok to take money from the taxpayer to fund their continuing unsucessful research.  [sounds like spreading the wealth from the successful to the failures].

I highly encourage you to reconsider your position on Prop 2.

Thanks for all the responses!

AHH, HELLO!

How about our own KERRY MORGAN for UoM Regent?  Besides the fact that I happen to agree with most of MichMan1's political stances, he happens to be a good friend and fellow arfcommer.

How about Roddis for Supreme Court?  A quote from his LWV response:

" The greatest obstacle to justice is the almost universal belief that government has magical healing powers when, in fact, government is the primary cause of our current social and financial collapse. This “Mary Poppins” theory of government encourages judges to override essential liberties and approve government programs that are not only unconstitutional, but which lead inevitably to more crises and more unconstitutional programs. Judges have an essential duty to strike down such unconstitutional laws. "

Will he win?  Perhaps not, but what excuse do you have for voting the status quo when such high quality alternatives are available?  VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE!

no hype.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will, torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Those are the very same reasons Hitler was elected in 1933. Unemployment, inflation, financial disruption- the country wanted a strong visionary leader who promised change and a great future.

So what is Obama going to do to remedy your poor financial situation?  Government, especially a democratically controlled government, is a poor substitute for responsible money management.  Larger government, higher taxes and more deficit spending will do little to help your situation.  Perhaps you are looking forward  to the "spreading of wealth," but need I remind you that if that is the case, that makes you a socialist.

And, what does the current administration have to do with you almost losing your home to foreclosure?

It will be interesting to watch the DEMS try to assign blame and that the Republicans are ruining the country, economy, etc when they control the Congress, Presidency and YOU over the next several years!

They'll consult with the Kilpatrick and Granholm administrations on how to most convincingly blame the previous administration with a straight face.
