Applied for 1 in September and got it. Not sure why I didn't apply for 2, just distracted I guess. Was in a place that sold permits today and applied for the second round. Clerk suggested I apply for 2. Did not think that I could get 2 more but did not care to discuss it, so surprise, the clerk hands me 2  for a total of 3 DMPs. Just wondering, had I gotten 2 in the first round, could I have gotten 2 more in the second round?

And anyone have 3J that they want to trade for my 3M?

Generally you can get 2 in your name should they be available when you apply.  Then you may receive up to 2 more from others which you must write their document numbers onto the face of your license.  Total of 4.

The 3 in your name is a screwup and shouldn't have happened.  The licensing software should have prevented it.

ETA- there may be some special areas where extras are possible.  4j used to be like that, fill you tag and take the deer to the delmar game farm for an inspection and they'll give you another.  FYI it was a bow only zone that needed culling.

ETA-  I'm hearing that you can 2 first go round and 2 on the 2nd drawing if the zone needs culling.  News to me!  This from a state License Issuing Agent.

You get up to 2 the first round and can get a 3rd if you apply for the second round.

2 first round (when you buy your license) and have the possibility if your WMU has left overs, you can pick up 2 more around november 2nd time frame

i have 5 tags to fill this year so i left the 2 extra for my WMU in the pool for someone else that needs them

I hunt 4S. I didn't get any because I didn't pay the extra $10.00. I ain't paying for something I used to get for free. I might get lucky though. Last couple of years I got DMPs for free because not enough applied.
