Sears, Montgomery wards, Otasco, TG&Y sold guns?

I can remember as a young lad looking through the sears catalog and looking at all of the firearms they offered. Or going to the Otasco on Main Street and buying a .22 rifle. The TG&Y had a decent selection as well...I still have a box of 30-06 ammo with a TG&Y price sticker on it...

I remember when you could MAIL ORDER your shotguns from Sears.
I remember looking at the catalog with my Dad and picking out a Noble 12 ga and an American Eagle 410.
I still remember the day the mailman brought them to the house. My Dad passed away last fall,
I still have both shotguns and many memories of hunting with my Dad.

got my first real gun from tg&y in 1976, worked with my pop all summer long,

so when school started back up I got a combo of payment for a summer's worth of hard work, a birthday present and christmas all rolled into one,

a glenfield 22lr single shot bolt rifle for whopping price of $25.

can't remember ever buying a gun from otasco, but I bought a shitload of ammo there, it was the only place in Norman that would sell a kid ammo, helped out my pop had an account there.
