How many times have you been pulled over with firearm(s) in the car? Every time I do they run my CCW and usually my Serial numbers on the gun.  The last time however the cop didn't run anything but I think he had pulled me over where he wasn't supposed to and was in a hurry to get back into city limits.

Why don't you slow down and get all your lightbulbs in working order?

lol lightbulbs all work...All my traffic stops come from the same damn city the cops there are known for speeding tickets! Yes I am going above the speed limit but they get you in places you would never be bothered in other cities. I even got pulled over cause they said I "rolled" a stop sign they get you for anything There EVERYWHERE lol

Are you in the Melbourne area, by chance?  The beachside communities are ALL like that!

My brother got a few tickets this way and was griping to me about it (he's older than me, BTW) and it was one of the few times that I had to set HIM straight.  He WAS speeding and he DID earn the tickets and the cops DID do the jobs they are paid to do.  I agree that the situation is BS sometimes, but he knows that they WILL issue tickets around here so don't gripe when they do so.

Around here, the cops will give you 5 MPH of leeway on a 40 or 45 MPH road, but they give NO leeway on a 25 MPH residential street. We've got a lot of kids around here.

Believe it or not..only once during my 30 years of life. As a matter of fact...it happened on the one day I wish it hadn't. I was moving, and emptied the safe of it's contents into the back of my Jeep. I was taking them over to the new house while the movers were moving the safe. I was gonna meet up with them and transfer everything back. Well, with 3 m16s, 4ARs, multiple pistols, 2 SBS, and assorted mags later...leo junior pulls me over for speeding. Needless to say it was "YES SIR I was speeding and was wrong...I'll never do it again and where do I sign the ticket". Both hands in plain view with the cab lights on. Ended up in no ticket, just a "slow down" warning. Thank god all my stuff was covered up. To this day I wonder why he never asked me if I had any guns, or "What's under the blakets?"

When I have been pulled over, I always surrender my "concealed weapons permit" along with my "drivers license".  I also volunteer to the officer where my gun is and that it's loaded.

A buddy of mine who is a FHP officer once told me that ALL officers appreciate this approach, and that they will deal more leniently with you if you are voluntarily compliant.

It does work...each time I've done this, I only received a warning.  Remember, cops are mostly good guys and just trying to do their jobs.  But like any other profession, there are some a__holes who just want to give you a hard time.  Go with the flow...you are in THEIR world when you get stopped.

My weapons are locked up in my toolbox. I will not volunteer their presence. If he want to search it, I will say anything I can to discourage him from opening it.

"Do you have a search warrant? May I speak to your supervisor? Could you tell me what is your probable cause?"

But if he just wants to give me a ticket, I'll be nice.

Excellent way to get yoursdelf cuffed, put in the back of a patrol unit, have your car tossed, and have your weapons "accidentally" damaged or stolen legally under US V. Sandini.

Yeah, I'll bet. Do you carry around lube in case you meet a lonely male cabaret dancer, too?

Good sheep, good sheep! Most are not good guys, most aren't bad guys, they are just regular guys who have a somewhat distorted view of the citizenry. Also, if extortion is your job, you probably need to get another one. What do you call a guy who threatens you with a gun and takes your money? Officer.

So bend over and try not to scream. If a cop pulls me over my life,  freedom, and finances are instantly imperiled whether he is a madman or a decent guy. It doesn't matter. They want to give me a go fast tax, fine. They outnumber me and have a communication network, so I have no recourse but to accept being extorted. They will get no other information from me without a lawyer present, and they will not search my vehicle without a warrant. I was LE for 3 years, and I saw a lot of bad things done by cops, petty most often, but certainly abrogations of their oaths.  I trust a cop as much as I trust a politician. Would you allow someone you never met to come to your house, start interrogating you,  and wander through tearing up stuff and taking it? No? Why your car then? Do you voulnteer your CCW status to strangers on the street? No? Why a cop then? That badge isn't magic. Ask a cop how he would feel about having the law come and search his house. I doubt you will get an honest answer.
