Here's my take on the Candidates.

John McCain - A left leaning Republican that I trust about as far as I can throw. Horrible Immigration Policy. Better than Romney on the 2nd Amendment. I would not feel comfortable voting for him and I don't think he could beat the Democrats in November anyway.

Mitt Romney - A left leaning Republican who is trying to position himself as a Conservative but will cave in to the Democrats if elected. Especially on 2nd Amendment Issues. However I think he could beat Hillary or Obama. I'm tempted to vote for him because of this reason but I would have to hold my nose and close my eyes to do so.

Mike Huckabee - Seems more conservative than the others and I think is by far the strongest 2nd Amendment Candidate. His views are probably the closest to mine, but I don't think he could beat either Obama or Clinton.

Rudy Giuliani - A left leaning Republican that I don't think will be in the race in a month. Therefore I think it would be a waste to vote for him and I don't trust him on the 2nd Amendment anyway.

Ron Paul - Need I say more. A vote for him would be a waste. Even though he is strong on the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution as a whole. He's seems kinda nuts. Not real Presidential Material.

I think all of them would be better than Obama or Clinton, especially on Social Issues, Defense of the Country, Economic Policy, etc.. I think Romney is probably the only one that could beat either Obama or Clinton but I think he's full of crap when he says he supports the 2nd Amendment and he just looks like the typical smooth talking politician that will let us down in the future. But I would take him over Hillary or Obama any day since they both scare the living batcrap out of me.

I'm just frustrated that this is all we have to look forward to. Does anyone have any differing opinions on any of the candidates or think I am way off on my thinking? I would appreciate opinions in case I am missing something.

All of this makes me not want to vote but I know that a lot of brave people died for our right to vote and a lot of men and women are putting theirs lives on the line as we speak in Iraq and Afghanistan for this freedom and to not vote would be an insult to them and their sacrifices, irregardless of the poor selection of candidates.

To be honest, I don't have a clue. I was a Fredhead, but now I feel anybody I vote for is a waste.

I have to agree even though I'm not happy that I again have to choose the lesser of all the evil limited options.

Ron Paul is a wing nut and a wasted vote.

Obama scored a BIG one yesterday with the Kennedy's endorsing him. Ted is a heavy weight that will go toe to toe with the Clinton machine.

Obama vs. McCain in Nov.

We also voting NO on Amend 1.

I just wasted my vote and voted for Fred, and I feel GREAT about it. A couple other people there did too.
All of them are douche bags, and I'm sick of holding my nose and voting.

I'm going with the guy I feel is best and, I'm voting YES on Amendment 1.

If, for some strange reason you don't support Amendment 1, because you're a member of some kind of socialist state or local employees worker's union or otherwise enjoy getting taxed into oblivion....

I voted Huckabee. He probably won't win, but I really like him. I like how he doesn't compromise his beliefs (agree with him or not) just to get a vote. I voted no on Amendment 1, they need to do better than this. It just looks like a tax cut, but doesn't really do anything.

ETA: when it comes to the general election I will vote Republican, but at least this time I can vote for who I like.

We, my wife and I, voted for McCain and NO on Amend. 1.
We don't want to pay the county what little we might have saved voting yes on Amend. 1.

I felt kind of dirty leaving the polling place this morning. I couldn't completely waste my vote on Fred now that he has "QUIT", but I wasn't exactly happy settling for Huckabee.

Am I any less of a man for admiting I was not sure of myself this vote?

Yup. Nah, Just kidding. It was a hard choice. They all waffle, they all have something in their voting record, it was just something about Huckabee's values that made me cast a vote for him.

Intersting, Seems like most people feel about the same way I do. I supported Fred Thompson when he entered but I was frustrated that he ran such a lousy / lazy campaign. I felt like he was the only true conservative of the bunch and now were left with a bunch of pretenders who will give in to the Democrats if elected. Like Mudfoot said I think no matter who I vote for, McCain, Romney, or Huckabee, when I leave the booth I'm gonna feel kinda dirty because I don't have a great liking for any of them. I can't belive out of 300 million people in this country there is not one take no shit person out there in the mold of Ronald Reagan that could lead this country.

I think we need to seriously go after whoever gets the nomination on the GOP side to let them know how we feel, especially when it comes to the 2nd Amendment because I don't have a good feeling about this election with reagrds to that issue. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out tonight. Either way at least it will be over for a while and we won't be getting 15 voice mails a day from the candidates.

Do a little more research before you make a stupid comment like this.  Amendment 1 is a joke, it will save you NO money.  If it passes, your county is going to make up for the money they lose by implementing fees that are non tax deductable.  So you'll be paying about the same every year but deducting less from your income tax at the end of the year.  Not to mention you will have less public safety, a lot less.  The only reason this Amendment is being proposed is to save the rich people down south money on their big houses.

I have no problem with them cutting property taxes, but they need to make up for the revenue some other way, like maybe raising the state sales tax where all the non-homeowners will pay too.

i think it's good, especially for my parents. saves the poor old man some money. they plan on adding slots into the jai-ali, dog and horse race tracks which 53% of the income is going to schools/fire/police. so why th e hell not?
