I'm coming to your state! I'll be working in the Spring Hill area for about 3 months on and off and hope that there is a decent place to shoot in the area. Usually when I work in KC its up by GM and Certainteed and I stay on the MO side so this is new to me. No problem bringing a pistol with me right? I have a PA and FL CCW but I don't believe I can carry because my FL permit is non-resident. Any funky gun laws or things I should watch out for? Any info is appreciated! |

You might need to check out the KDSC thread as we will be getting together soon for another shoot. I assume you'll be staying somewhere around Olathe or Overland Park so look for the Bullethole in OP. The BH is an indoor range and the meeting spot for at least one group that does some competitive handgun shooting, just inquire with the staff. If your looking for entertainment of another kind, you'll find two gentlemens clubs not five miles from Spring Hill. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=44&t=266055 |

Thanks for the info and the link. I'd love to make it on Nov. 10th but unfortunately I'll be working. Most of the time I'll have off will be on Sundays. I will be looking at the BulletHole. Do they really require that only six rounds are in the pistol at one time? Is there anywhere around to shoot rifle or shotgun on Sundays? Gentleman's clubs eh? I'll make sure to inform my coworkers! Thanks for the info spectre556! |
I generally go shooting in Clinton MO. It's a bit of a drive but it's a nice range. It is a covered range (25, 50, 100 yards) with benches and target stands. It also has no ROs so you can pretty much do whatever you want. It is about 60 miles one way from my door in Overland Park, so it's a decent drive but IMO worth it. |
Where did you hear that? No, you can load whatever your magazine holds.... |
He got that from the range rules section of the website. www.thebullethole.com/portal/Range/RulesoftheRange/tabid/65/Default.aspx ALL GUNS will be kept INSIDE your own booth. Do not walk or reach forward of the firing line. Only ONE gun can be loaded at a time. All others to be unloaded with action open. No fast draws allowed. NO hip shooting. No more than 6 rounds loaded at a time. No rapid fire faster than one round per second. Only authorized targets permitted. Do not fire at cans, boxes or other improvised targets. No deliberate firing down range at lights or other protruding objects. Do not remove a loaded gun from the booth. Open & clear ALL guns before leaving booth. As you leave the range, deposit all trash and accessible brass in the designated containers. Leave ear protection on until clear of the range. NO SMOKING, FOOD or DRINKS ON RANGE. How often it is enforced is another question but it is one of the rules. I have seen it enforced at least once too. |
The time I did see it enforced, the offending party was shootin gangsta style and honestly looked to be sharpening his driveby skillz ![]() If you dont look like an immediate safety hazard I don't think they scrutinize you as heavily. |
