| I have to take Hunters Ed soon. It turns out it qualifies as training for Az CCW, and Ive been skirting it the last couple years hoping not to get caught, but I guess its time to do it. Has anyone here taken the course? Do you see many adults or is it mostly kids? What am I in for? |
| I finally took it a couple years ago after the game warden started coming around the area we dove hunt. Sure enough he showed up the following season and ticketed someone who didn't have it. The class I was in was all adults except for one kid that was there with their dad. |
| I used to teach it when I lived in OK. Where are you looking to take it? I have a buddy up in Collinsville that's an instructor, he does a pretty fun class he has tree stands set up and bow ranges at his place. Let me know of you want me to see when his next class is. |

I took mine just recently back in June.
Class was about 40 people. About 20 kids and 20 adults give or take. I did the two day course Fri. 6:30pm - 9:00pm and Sat 8:00am - 6:00pm. It was long... but educational for me. They didn't cover bow hunting it was all rifle hunting from handling to cleaning, etc. They talked about and a video was shown about antler limits and white tail conservation. The instructor mentioned one of the most expensive fines ever filed against someone by the TPWD was a man who thought he was shooting at a sandhill crane and ending up killing a whooping crane. He was fined for over $1 million and is still paying the fine to this day. Ouch. |
