can anyone tell me weather or not it is legal to hunt with a muzzleloader during rifle/shotgun season in CT. I looked on the DEP website but i couldn't find anything. thanks.

No it isn't. Muzzleloader is a separate season (deer)

There are three deer seasons in CT:

Archery

Muzzle Loader

Firearm*


* in firearm season, you need your hunting license and deer permit. You must use either a 12, 16 or 20 guage shotgun plugged to hold no more than three rounds total (chamber and magazine). This is for state land. Ammunition must be a single slug (soft, single, alloy projectile either lead or saboted). No buckshot for deer in CT

On private land of more than 10 acres - with the proper permit - a center fire rifle
may be used during firearm season. The rifle must be .243 or 6mm (or larger caliber)

ok thanks, i am just much better with my muzzleloader than my shotgun.

You can also bowhunt throughout the season!
