Ok. I got some nasty spyware/virus bs that made me reformat my computer. I dont have the manufacturers disks that came with the damn thing anymore and I now have a problem. I have reformatted a number of times due to some video conflicts and finally(I think) got it figured out. Windows xp Ati Radeon 1650 I was having problems with the "Video adapter(vga compatible) It would not install a driver for it so I finally downloaded what I think is the most up to date MOBO driver kit and the little fucking yellow exclamation point finally went away. Now it shows a "Radeon x1650" and a "Radeon x1650 secondary" in my device manager. Disabling either of these seems to do no good. Now for the problem. I start CoD4 and it runs fine for approximately 5 seconds into a game and then the screen blacks out. I get a thing that says "No video output" and eventually it goes away and the game starts back up and chops for a bit before finally crashing totally. I am at my wits end here. I have been fighting this on and off for 3 days and my urge to kill is rising....... |

Bezerker, your understanding of computer black magic is weak. What is likely causing problems is residual drivers. You will want to troll/search Overclock.net really quick and maybe see if other people are having issues. 1. Download the newest driver from ATI, stash the file. 2. Download this driver cleaner (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745) 3. Clean out your ATi drivers. 4. Reinstall the newest drivers. 5. Make sure CoD4 is up to date. I'd recommend a mac, but then I like tinkering stuff. Also Mac has no gaming whatesoever |
