| Does a school in Indiana cover universities and colleges or is it only K thru 12. Thanx, Jeff |

Quoted: Jeff, I think that you'll find that most Uni's and Colleges here (and in most states) have provisions that limit the ability to carry (concealed or open) on their physical grounds. Cheers and good luck.. I would expect they would limit students and staff, but would that legally apply to visitors? In MI, where I'm from visitors can carry expect in dorms and classrooms and sporting arenas. I was just looking for how the law defines school. Thanx for the reply. Jeff |

The rkba-net is wise and does good research! In the Indiana Code, "school" typically refers to K-12, preschool, and licensed day care facilities. It does not usually refer to post-secondary institutions (colleges, universities, technical schools, etc.). I don't think there is an explicit definition of "school" in the section of the code dealing with weapons, but in other sections it is as above. |
