Looking at changing my internet provider at home and need some advice.

I remember seeing in the past that people have had issues accessing this site and possibly other shooting sites.

Which ISP's were involved and what were the issues.

Thanls in advance.

i was with BT for years and no problems , changed to sky and arf fell off the face of the earth , used a proxy for a few weeks and than it just started working , been fine for almost a year now , never found out what it was , sky said it was not them and that they do not block sites

I'm currently with BT, looking for a change as there costs are going up again this year.

I think it was Sky that was a problem in the past, not sure why you'd have to go via a proxy.

Zen Zen Zen

and in two days time (12th) they are increasing my speed up to a possible 20mb/s from the current 7.5ish  (although that work is probably more to do with a BT Openreach upgrade rather than Zen......)

Fiber optic lines being installed all over the country. I'm getting an upgrade to similar speeds also in the next couple of weeks. Would have got it sooner if it weren't for the neighbors damn tree damaging the line.

With Zen now and have been for 7 years, as Nick said, not cheap, but very good.... looking at switching to PlusNet shortly as their deal and T & C's are very similar...

ETA:  Nick... you asked me something movie related this weekend and I forgot what it was? Please drop me a PM

just wait til you get a line problem.

I was with TalkTalk and the line became very noisy, I was only able to download at just over dial-up speeds.
Spoke to TalkTalk who said it was BT's line and their probelm, talk to them.
Spoke to BT who said the line is leased from them by TalkTalk who have installed their own equipment in the exchange so go speak to them.

In the end nothing got done. I changed to BT and I had a new line installed (cheaper than the call-out and fix fees) and now I have no problems.

Just spoke to BT's retention department, they obviously don't want me to leave, better deal than last year so now happy, thanks for all the help though.

I used to be with TalkTalk.

Will never recommend them to anyone. Slow speeds, unreliable connection, unfair bandwidth throttling and crappy lines. Not to mention the customer service is cack. Took about three months to switch providers due to them refusing to give BT the code needed to switch lines back, then months after we get a load of bills saying we're still with them and owe them money. They absolutely refused to accept that we had stopped using them despite us showing them the numerous letters stating otherwise. Eventually we just started ignoring them until one day a debt collector shows up at our door demanding money, that was until we showed him all the letters we had saying that we had switched providers over 9 months ago. Never heard from TalkTalk again after that.
