| Right now I'm going round and round on internet service. I'm currently with Bellsouth but thinking of going with Time Warner and bundling. Phone, TV and internet for $113.95 + tax. Good for one year........not bad, I guess. After a year I'm sure they will put the screws to you. If I went wireless with TW add $9.00 per month for two computers and if more than 2 keep on adding (rip off!). Bellsouth is a bit higher for phone and internet (right now about $8.00 more per month) but no TV (unless you go with a dish). For unlimted wireless add $5.00 per month for unlimited service better than TW). You guys got anyway to beat the system?? |
why would you pay for additional computers, meaning you hook up the second and anymore computers yourself. if you don't know how to do it ask someone. someone in GD will help or point you to a site to get help at. i hook up my other computers myself, mine are not wireless but i used a router. i don't understand why there is a charge for unlimited wireless? i have unlimited internet and if i went wireless wouldn't it still be unlimited? |
I have had up to 6 computers hooked up to my router and the service tech from TW didn't say anything about it when he was here to hook up my digital phone. |

I have had TWC road runner, and Bellsouth extreme 3.0 and now 6.0. TWC had outages constantly, particularly in the wee morning hours. The connections would get bogged down at times. The screws got put to me after the promo period ended. Bellsouth was cheaper, and the price didn't go up after a while. I have NEVER had a service outage. EVER. That I know of anyways.... I don't have to reset my modem constantly either. My speeds were as fast on 3.0 and now I upgraded to 6.0 mbps for $8 a month more. My connection doesn't bog down. A few software tweaks and It runs an honest 5.9-6.0 down and like 412ish up. Personally I prefer bellsouth. |

I have RR in Raleigh, great speed, I dont have a landline so I can't get DSL, what I get for not having a landline though. www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ to Washington DC shows

FYI: DSL: Your own personal line, limited by distance. Cable: Shared, limited by number of people on the node. BellSouth (soon to be AT&T Corp.) is working on releasing a 24 meg line by the end of the year. I was working to help the cause, but I switched back to office work due to my shoulder. |
