Hey folks,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm in the Huntsville area. I did right at 11 years in law enforcement as a patrol officer, school resource officer, and extradition/transport officer (in no particular order) and currently work for a defense contractor on RSA. I've been a firearms enthusiast for a LONG time and look forward to gaining some more knowledge through the opinions and directives on this site. I vehemently support the 2nd Amend. and the COTUS and thankful for the opportunity to call Alabama home! Hopefully I will be able to provide some good input regarding the law in Alabama and some stuff about guns/shooting. -Joel |

You might be interested in joining the MARS Skeet club. The office is in 4755 and for a $30 yearly membership you can order through their FFL for -0- transfer fees and at dealer costs. Long guns and lowers as well as reloading supplies, scopes, fishing stuff, archery tackle, etc.No pistols. You have to join the pistol club for those.
Welcome. |

I've never heard of it. It's on the NASA side, if you are a NASA Govt or Contractor they will accept your application for membership no problems. If you are a DoD Civilian/Military or Retired they have a waiting list to join I don't think they allow DoD contractors to join. For members it cost $3.00 for a round of skeet or trap and guest prices are $3.50 RSA MWR has a skeet, trap, and slug range over off Patton Road across from the sparkman center. Their prices are $4-$5 per round skeet or trap and I think the slug range is free but it's normally only used for people that are registered to hunt. Also you have to register any firearms you wish to bring onto RSA with the Provost Marshalls office. |

After I left the Sheriff's Office to work for Athens PD, we did all of our firearms quals at NASA's range. AWESOME range I might add. Concrete from 25 yds in. I don't believe they allow anyone downrange unless they are NASA Police or a civilian PD there for quals or competitions though. |

WELCOME to the site and to this HTF!
We have several good members up in the Rocket City area, and it is a part of the state I always enjoy visiting. Thank you! This is a great area. I moved here back in early 2002 from Maryland and haven't looked back since. I am from Maine originally and own property there. It's way more liberal in Maine, but not as bad as other places. HAHA. |
