Local shop just told me NICS has been down since saturday is that correct?

I went in to Cheyenne on Saturday to use up a PTPP before it expires. They faxed in my NICS around noon-ish. It still has not come back.
I am getting worried. I already paid for the M9A1 in full. I'll be screwed if my PTPP expires and I have to re-apply and wait 30 days. I would hope they go by the NICS request date, not the NICS approval date, but who knows.
