| I'm not that dumb but after the weather we have been having it sure feels nice out there today. I got to leave work a little early. I am really excited for spring this year. |

Yep, I usually launch at Seneca. They put a real nice dual ramp and parking area in just east of the bridge a few years ago. My friends are south of town and we make it to the river quite a bit in the summer. When there's not a lot of traffic out there and not windy, the water is pretty smooth and great for skiing and tubing. |

Ya make me sick - in a good way. Our family used to RELIGIOUSLY take our boat on the Mississippi every weekend it wasn't rainin (and some that ended up in rain). It was a routine. 1. Wash and Wax our 68' Larson 6 seater with an I/O (Grandpa bought it new is 68') 2. Stop by the liquor store and buy beer - alot of beer. I mean a lot. 3. Drive to the Mississippi (we didn't need to pack the boat, we never unloaded it). 4. Swing that boat from Port Byron, IL to Princeton Beach. 5. Meet with Uncle Jay and his family - they crack the beer. 6. Us kids played in the water - ran out when Dad and Jay did a "prop check" - woods were too far away to piss. 7. Dad drinks more beer, sits in his chair and kicks the sand and BS's with the adults. 8. Pitch the tent - drinks more beer, starts a fire, we eat, dad drinks more beer, we go to sleep. 9. Wake up to Powdered Donuts and sometimes actual hot food - pending the night before. 10. Repeat 6-10 11. Go home on Sunday exhausted and sunburnt. 12. Watch dad cringe all week long while putting on the workboots because the top of his feet were severely burn - I mean BAD. 13. Aloe and Vera all week. 14. Do it all again at the end of the week. Not much changed in that routine but the weather, and I miss it. I'm going on 30 now, and Dad was doing this at my age with his family. We still have the boat, but it would take so much to get it back into running shape. Last time it was out, I took it with 3 buddies when I was 17 or 18. Days gone by...here's to a few more. Bob |
What kind of speed does that thing get? ![]() Our fish, ski, tubing, keep our almost 5 year old from falling out boat. |
