+1 It's hard to tell from that pic but IMO the bottom line is that if ammo is doing something you think isn't righ DON'T shoot it! A few dollers worth of ammo isn't worth a new gun or hand. I wonder what WalMart's policy is on defective ammo? Good luck.

Mexi-Mart's policy is no policy, call the manufacturer |
| yeah, those suckers were poping back out a bit. They didnt feel too bad when shooting, but when my hands get cold they dont work quite right so I would be a poor judge. I kinda wonder if the primers themselves were a little on the thin side, and thats what caused it. Could be a possibility. Either way I probably wouldnt shoot anymore. It would be very sad to have a KB'd 1911 or have to learn to shoot like a lefty. I had a few primers in some Radway Green blow in my old mini-14, and that was a little less than pleasurable. Kinda ruins your day of shooting when you get all kinds of crap in your eyes. I say call CCI. They seem like a pretty decent Co to deal with. |

That is NOT normal (first post pic). Looks like overpressured and/or headspace. Thin primer cups won't do that- Something aint right, but it's not in front of me and the pics aren't good enough for me to tell exactly what isn't right. It doesn't do that with other brass/loads? |
| Take that crap back to China-mart, and tell them that your life was endangered, and unless you get a full refund, you will stand out front with a sign saying they sell defective crap. Then when they say no, ask to speak with a manager. They suck anyway, since they quit selling guns. I refuse to shop there anymore. When you get your $15.00 back, go over to Buy-Mart and get some ammo there. Then call me and will go out and shoot it up. Your lucky you got a friend like me. |

Could it be the boolitts? I thought I read on the internet that improperly seated bullets could cause higher pressures. Would it be worthwhile to compare some of the unfired rounds to see if they are all about the same or does that particular problem happen when they are chambering and get pushed back into the brass? *disclaimer - 90% of what I know about guns I learned at ar15.com and 90% of that is BS. |
Nah. The rest I learned from the high speed Delta Seal Ranger SAS guys at fun shows. I could tell which ones they were because as I recollect they all wore the same uniform: woodland BDU trousers, a shotgunner shirt, and a photographer's vest. |

well, I went out today and shot some more out of the gun w/ different ammo and it's still doing it. I am going to call Taurus tomorrow and find out what needs to be done. Anyone ever have to do warranty stuff w/ them? Can I just UPS it myself w/o going to an FFL to the manufacturer? Or do I need to do the whole transfer debocle. |

Camo Ken, Looks like the slide starts rearward before the case can slam against the breech and re-seat the primer. A guess would be the barrel lugs are not properly fitted to the slide and you don't have enough lock-time for this to happen. A smith needs to look at it. Regards draff45 |
