Thought I'd say hi fellas.

I moved to Seattle from Ann Arbor (Go Blue!) in November of 1998.

I've been back to Michigan a few times since then but I sure don't miss those frikkin little green permit to purchase a pistol cards!

You can buy with a CCW now but you still have to register the pistol after purchase.

Here is how it works in WA.

Go to the shop fill out the 4473 and the state form.  Run the NICS check and if you have your Concealed Pistol License take your new pistol home, if not you have to wait 5 business days for the State Police to do their check before taking your handgun home.

It's just the 4473 and NICS check on long guns.

There are no class 3, SBR, SBS, in WA. We can to AOWs though. We can have supressors but because there is a badly worded old law on the books it's illegal to acually use them in State (road trip to Oregon or Idaho).  The chief LEOS in the Seattle area refuse to sign off on supressor purchases so most people choose to go the incorporation route.

We do have person to person sales and a WA CPL is accepted in Michigan.

It's funny that when I lived in MI I couldn't get a CCW but my WA CPL is perfectly fine.

yeah, it used to be that way. it changed in 2000, now we're a "shall issue" state.  suweet!!!!!!!.
all you need to do to purchase a handgun now is have your CPL with you, and the dealer has to make a phone call and you're good to go.
