Just trying to guage interest and in what areas, specifically, regarding pocket knives.

I'm looking mostly at either Benchmade (yes that includes the autos they won't fix), Spyderco, and Microtech (all auto).

Anybody have any thoughts on products from the above manufacturers?  Would anyone else be interested?

I'm a fan of the Shun classic series.

Wait, wrong type of knife.

A Spyderco Endura has been my daily carry knife for over 5 years.  Awesome blade.

Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT), Model M-16-14.  I think it's probably the most underated fighting knife (folder) on the market.  It is absolutely outstanding in all aspects (strength, size, blade length, blade contour, locking mechanism, edge holding properties, etc.)  Best of all, it's 1/2 the price ($70) of a Benchmade/Emerson.  I can't recommend it enough.

I like the SOG line. I had a Flash II for over a year and misplaced it. I searched high and low for a replacement, everything from Benchmade, ColdSteel, MOD, Buck, Gerber, Kershaw, etc, and for the price, I couldn't find one I liked as much. I ended up buying another Flash II.

I just got an M16-03Z for $24 on ebay. Nice blade, I had to work it a bit to smooth out the action but for the price its a fantastic knife.

I also picked up a CRKT Crawford Kasper for $17 on Ebay (it normally sells in the $40-$50 range) and I can't say enough about it. Smoothest action I've ever felt, good balance, sharp as hell... its a bit large though.

Another vote for Benchmade. Have several of their knives and carry at least one every day, unless I'm traveling on business.  I've got one of their auto-openers that accompanies me anytime I'm in the woods.  The Griptilian's make for a perfect daily carry knife. I find it's the one I pick up the most. Holds an unbelievalbe edge, great balance, great blade...great overall utility knife

I have all kinds of knives. I use the spyderco harpy and it has been for me the most useful by far. I open a lot of boxes and things and cut rope, string and this thing is the best i have ever had.

I have have a microtech vector hawk that i used to carry but went back to the harpy because i found it more useful

and i have a microtech combat talon otf that i use for opening letters.. it is to thick for use as a work knife..

and i want one of these but they are too big to carry and i already have a letter opener.

btw.. each june i think there is a great blade show in atlanta where you can find some interesting knives..

I recently got a SOG Flash 2 TiNI Tanto from Grant.   Very nice knife and a great guy to deal with.

I will have one of these...

I really want the executive model(no grip tape) of this, oh, single edge, non serrated...

but I can only really afford this, same blade config as stated above. The full sized NOT the newer junior version.

My current carry knife is a CRKT Point Guard, but I'm not thrilled with it. It doesn't hold an edge very well at all.

The SOG knives are excellent. You can't own just one, unfortunately. The Microtechs are also very very nice autos. I have a Microtech Halo II that I really like. I prefer fixed blades to folders for most applications, but I always keep a folder in my pocket as well. Pretty much anything you find by Benchmade, Emerson or Spyderco is going to be a decent knife, so just find one that you like. If you want a great value, try the Doug Ritter RSK. Its one of the most functional and affordable hand made knives I've ever seen. The Mini-RSK is only about $100.
