[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Knife sharpening

Does anyone know of a good knife sharpener in the Memphis area? I need my kitchen knives sharpened. I used to be a chef so I always had a great sharpening setup at the restaurants or a guy came by that put an edge on them like no other. I really don't want to buy a nice stone with 3 sides right now. I can keep them sharp and honed with what I have now, I just need a really good (new) razor's edge.

Call the Restaurant Iris and ask Kelly who he uses.

If you're willing to gamble on who's working that day, there's an electric honing rig at the Bass Pro Shops over at the I-40/240 split. Some of those guys do a better job than others.

I used to cook there when it was LaTourelle. We had a guy that came by, but I don't remember him. Mostly we sharpened our own stuff
