LMI will be holding a one day defensive handgun course at the Canandaigua Sportsmens Club, Canandaigua, NY . CANCELLED!!!! When: Monday, April 14. 0900-1600 Where: Canandaigua Sportsmens Club, NY. Cost: Only $100 Only four student will be allowed to attend this course. This increases the effectiveness of the training. Description: This course is for the beginner student who wants to learn Defensive Marksmanship. This course focuses on LMI’s four elements of Defensive Marksmanship: ‘Accuracy, Power, Speed and a Proper Combat Mind Set’ This course stresses safety and fundamentals. The student will learn how to correctly present their pistol from a holster and engage targets out to 25 feet. There will be an amphasis on 12 feet and under for most of the shooting. Topics include: * Range Safety * Choosing the right equipment to help support you and your pistol. * Safe storage in your home and in transit. * Loading and unloading. * Choosing the right ammunition for your pistol. * Key Federal and State laws and the judicious use of lethal force for self-defense. * Accuracy. * Failure to fire drills * After action assessments. * Pivoting and shooting while in motion. * Barricades and the use of Cover and Concealment. * Shooting positions, regular and realistic. * Presenting and firing from a concealed holster. * Weak hand firing. * One handed firing. * Basic Close Quarter engagements. * Verbal commands. * Basic room clearing techniques. 400 rounds of quality ammunition will be needed for this course.
