Guys here is a course that was requested by some people. I am putting this on to teach people the basics of land navigation. Information can be found on our website  creeksidefiringrange.com

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

And if any of you are wondering, myself and the other instructors have taught land navigation in the military and in the civilian market as well. I assure you if you pay attention in the classroom then you will learn alot and do fine on the courses. No gps devices will be used. This is land nav with a map, compass, and protractor.

We'll see about that.  I'm going there this June 2nd.

Can't be worse than Yankee North.

It would be awesome to include land nav into the Sniperchallenge-land nav your way to the FFP.
It's been a while since I've had to do it, but I'd be up for a refresher.

I'll bring the grid squares

Actually I just bought a few Tenino maps like I used in the Army.  1:50,000.  Working with my kids on map reading.  There are a lot of army training tests and info based on the Tenino map and it is good stuff.  I had an old 5-DMATC but it was English units but the new ones are 7-DMATC and are the metric measurements.

PS

There is also a permanent orienteering course over at Red Top Mountain State Park.  The maps and compass can be gotten from the ranger station.  I know it won't be as good as your land nav course but it does give some practical experience with map and compass.

I still have my map reading books from the Army, and at least one map.  I think it may be the Columbus map, though, I'd have to look.
