| Hey guys I was hoping to find someone who might know of a better place to shoot than the standard 100-200 yard sitting at a bench ranges that are the norm. Myself and my brother both Marines, want to try to expand on our knowledge and training but there is no where that I can find that allows fire and movement. Or a place that has a range further than 200 yards, although I am on to a couple inside hook ups and some place in GA. I would appreciate any help if yall could! Thanks! |

Clemson..... you are going to have a rough time with that, unless you can get onto the PD range that the rifle and shotgun classes use. Once you become a range officer they will grant the combo to the gate Other then that, take a look at Belton Gun Club, not too far from you. |

I'm in the same boat as you man (also new to the area) and living in Greenville. Would love to find a place that is cool with just a little bit more dynamic range time. Something a bit more relevant to defensive shooting tactics, reloads, shooting from retention and of course AR shooting and moving. Steel targets a huge ++ and if I have to pay an annual membership thats no problem whatsoever. If it's nice, I'll pay for nice.
Anyone ever shoot at Ant Hill range in Brunswick County NC? Now THAT'S how a range is supposed to be. Thanks for your service OP! |
| If you want to make the drive to Wilmington, look up the New Hanover County Law Enforcement Officers Association. Its a private club you'll have to join but has a private range. You'll get a key and can go whenever you want. Theres no rangemaster so be safe and do what you want, but it only goes back to 100 yards. |

I live in Lejeune right now but get out in like 12 days so I will be heading back to Clemson with is almost 7 hours away. I dont know if I am willing to drive 7 hours to shoot haha. I really wish we had one like that around here. |

I do my "training" at 3 gun matches.
Walnut Grove Gun Club has a match the last Saturday of every month. Lots of lateral movement, barricades, movers. Always good courses. A good bunch of guys, and several local LE's. This is near Rutherfordton, NC. I think you will like what you find. Later! John |
