Kelly Kovach Really Lewis county??? In order for the sheriff's department to get new guns, cause some of the guns have malfunctioned during practice, they need to eliminate parks and rec's. I can think of other cutbacks the county to do except messing with the sheriffs budget. Everyone pray that nothing happens in this county like what happened in dannemore |

Are they using guns that "other" agencies get by with? or something different?
I can see if they were outfitted with Taurus PT111s but if they are issued Glocks, an armorer should be able to make them work even with high round counts. Its the way these people get attention - take something away people need then people will pay them off Likely they just need to learn how to maintain a gun! |

Unless they never ever changed recoil springs. The old glock guidelines for the early .40's were the same as the 9's for round count before changes. It was too generous and there were problems. The new recommendation is a lower round count before spring change out. The rails molded into the frames were having failures with ours.
I went about 15 years with the same recoil spring in a G22. I had to badger the armorer to change mag springs as they were causing stoppages. I suspect if the Lewis county glocks aren't cracked in the tabs then all they need is a new springs all around. What's that $20 per pistol? ETA If they are cracked then they need new guns or new frames. If they followed the factory maintenance guidelines they may get some glock love on the issue. |
