Southern Safety is less than an hour drive south from Lexington, past Cayce.
You can shoot up to 500 yards. You don't have to be a member, but it's $25 a day, and the longest range I'm aware of. LINK |

No common sense by anyone there. Lots of gun handling with folks down range. People even sighting through their rifle scopes and working actions. You take your life in your own hands there. |

You aren't this first person I've heard say this about that range. That is a damn shame. It is a nice looking facility from the pics I have seen. |

If you're going to Indian Creek go during the week. I can attest to this. Indian Creek is a great outdoor range if you're willing to travel. I try to go on the weekdays, as there are usually quite a number of people that go on the weekends. Otherwise, there's usually just one or two shooters sighting a scope on a lead sled or someone taking their friends out. Weekends are fine if you're just gonna go to pop off a few mags and not really put up a target, which is what I do sometimes. |
