My 2 son's and I went to the Limerick Gun Auction last Saturday. Almost everything went too high. One guy bought a Well Used West Hurley 1928 Thompson for 17.9K.

I saw lots of tinned 7.62x39 ammo, 600 rds per tin go for $230 to $260 a tin. One guy bought a Winchester M1 carbine with a repro folding stock for 2K. It was a parts carbine.

Almost everything went too high.

I was there...hammer price on the Thompson was 17k and Winchester 30carbine went for 1600 buck.....agree that it was all too high....people were paying above retail for most items.....in bulk they were paying 66 cents a round for 223 ammo....wtf

ME TOO!  People were on crack!  Kept saying to my father in law "I can get the ammo at walmart cheaper"  Did get a .25 cal colt vest pocket pistol for $220, and a remington book for $5.  Would have bought a bit more BUT the prices people were willing to pay were stupid!  $25 for a 500rd brick of 22lr seriously?  UGH will not go to one again.  I enjoyed it for the learning experience it was.  OH and I was the one that found the plugged national ordanace 1903a3 springfield barrel.  I think I pissed off a few people with that little bombshell.  oh well!

Auctions tend to go that way. People get caught up in the moment. I didn't know about it, other wise I would have likely gone to watch the madness.

You were sitting next to me.

Did you look up our shooting videos on youtube under twm3006?

Was great meeting you and your Father-In-Law! Tell him I said Hello!
