I'm thinking about turning my AR pistol into an AOW. Is there someplace local I can get the work done to pay the $5 tax stamp and all that? I'm in Duluth btw. Thanks! |
I think it's gonna cost you $200 to make it an AOW. If I'm not mistaken, it's $5 transfer, $200 to make. But I could be wrong. |
It's a BM car-15 21 pistol with the detachable brake. I need to put in a treaded barrel to better mate my KX3 with. BM also said that to put on a 6'oclock rail on it (non ribbed handguards) I would need to send only my upper to them for installation. I wondered if BM would file the AOW stamp for me but BM will NOT do AOW paperwork for civies (I already asked them on the phone). So after I get my parts back from BM, sans vertical grip, I'll then have to take it somewhere to get the AOW "work" done. After the stamp is done, then I can put the grip on. Of course if anyone know the best way to do this, I'm all ears. |

I would wonder if you can just register it as an AOW without the changes in place. I mean if you have an AOW and you take the pistol grip off, is it then a pistol? I'd ask on the general class three forum what is the cheapest route for you to get it as an AOW. (As in what do you have to do to keep it at $5. Otherwise, contact G-man Weaponry. They make SBS's, so may be able to help you. |
