Where is there a good place to buy a gun safe locally?
OR
Would I be better off buying one online?

Generally you won't find them for sale online as the shipping costs are prohibitive for most people.  Only place local to me that has a decent selection of safes is Bargain Barn, but closer to Atlanta you could try Bass Pro

I tried.. it was such a pain in the ass that in the end I did nothing.

It appears that everyone offers better things online than I could find in stores which irritated me even more.

And dicks.. show some cool stuff online.. not available in stores. Typical

We will have a Cabelas soon too in Adairsville which will be nice so maybe we will have more options for this type of item

I've heard good things from folks here and from a friend at work about the place across the mall foyer from Bass Pro Shop.  Can't remember the name.

Maybe some of the gunshop guys on the board have a connection.

At the Sam's Club in Lithonia, they have a 12/24 Winchester safe.  I think that is like $600.  If you google winchester safes you can look at the safe and see interior pics.  The one at Sam's has a electronic lock.  Also Sam's club's site will show you if you local store has them or can get them.  When I get the funds that is where I am going to get mine.

Go to the safe store across from the BassPro, thats where I got mine. They delivered and set it where I wanted, when they said they would.

EAB1911...you need to give me a call.

Bernie's is still in business? I thought they lost the FFL

Call David at Newnan Ace Hardware, 770-251-0418. They carry Liberty safes. When I worked there we had one guy come up from Mississippi to buy two. He said we had the best prices in the southeast. Travis Tritt even bought two from us for his new house.

Note- In case it was not clear, I am no longer affiliated with Newnan Ace Hardware so this is not an illegal ad.

I bought a really nice Champion Safe from Adventure Outdoors for $699.  It was 4 way locking doors and a good fire rating.  Looks nice too, which is important.  They wanted $250 to deliver but Luckily I own a truck and 2 of my friends helped me lug it in the house.  Keep those babies locked up!

I don't know the details of the FFL, but they didn't sell guns when I stopped in last year.  It was mostly accessories, ammo, and clothing.  I was sad.

We got a Heritage Fortress from AO.  We hired their delivery guys.  Well worth the money.  Friggen thing is half a ton.

The Home Depot at Hamilton Mills has gun safes.  The one I bought is not shown online anymore, but if you are close to there, you might check to see if they have any more.  It was about $399 and holds an AR50, an AR30, 2 Savages and 3 AR10s pretty well.

Is she still packin'?

I went in there right after he lost his FFL looking for a Ruger .22, and he kept trying to sell me airsoft.  It was a bit surreal.
