Hey guys,
Looking for a local place to get some decent cigars. It's been a while since I've bought any and I usually did that online. I'm up in Granby, I know of a small shop in Simsbury, but that's about it. I just want to grab a few for this weekend and maybe for Mcladdens..... If that's even allowed? And why not bring in the bananas!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

There's one on 190 in Hazardville, and one in Vernon in the Rein's Deli plaza. Can't tell you if either shop is good or not. Good shop - good selection and you can smoke right there. Bought there a couple times. Also, there's one right off Rt5 in E Windsor, near Sofia's Plaza - behind Friendly's. They've got decent stuff there, but no smoking room. |

Thanks for the info guys. I'll have to take a little road trip and hit some of them. Bending.....that shop is(was last time I was in there) kinda crappy. More like a we sell cheap crap and cigars. But, that was 10 years ago. Haha never been there, I've just seen it when I've gone by. I figured it was probably shitty, but maybe worth a try. I only smoke cohibas and monte cristos |

The shop in Hazardville (part of Enfield) is pretty good. I know the owner and the fellas that work there pretty well. I've also purchased cigars from them for years before I finally gave 'em up permanently about three years ago. I love them but they just lost my interest and it was easier to quit them after 45 years then.
If you go, tell them that "Rome" sent you. I live literally around the corner. http://www.cvtobacco.com/about_us.html |

Except the Owl shop! Quoted:

Unfortunately smoking has been banned for sometime in public restaurants. It is still allowed in private clubs. So no on Mcladdens. Except the Owl shop! Grandfathered cafe license. Not a restaurant. Glad they're still in business but it is no where near the cigar store it used to be especially with Joe passing away. |

Carolina Tobacco in Manchester on West Middle Tpke has a great selection and a smoking room. Up In Smoke on Rte 372 in Cromwell has a gigantic selection and also has a smoking room. Stopped in Carolina Tobacco this morning. Was working in the area. Man, it's been awhile since I've bought cigars in a store. Picked up 2 smokes for later, one for me and one for the wife. Homemade pizza, beer, cigar and a fire pit. That's my kinda B-day! (Do I need to follow the GD rules and post a pick of my wife when we're enjoying our cigars?? )

There is a Mickey Blakes on the Post road in milford across from Hobby Lobby ( The old Sports Authority). Then there is a place on the right side right over the Orange line called Cigars And More.
Online I can suggest. Cigars International and J.R. Cigars. Both will send your order in about 3 days. |
| I buy my smokes at a small place in old saybrook. Forgot the name. Always have the Ashton's I smoke in stock, but I think most places do. Sounds trendy but the best place to smoke is Mohegan . Plenty of places to sit and drink a few and tug on a good ole aged wrapper |

The problem with buying local is that the state excise tax on the horrible, awful tobacco leaf applies. When you buy online, not only do you circumvent sales tax, but you also circumvent the excise taxes that the state imposes on cigars. The savings is upwards of a dollar per stick.
Check out cigars international Joes daily deal. Also cigarplace.biz, Atlantic cigar, and cigar.com(which is cigars international rebranded). I buy almost exclusively from Joes daily deal because of the free shipping and great prices. I have asked local shops if they could match or at least come close to online prices and they explained this state tax to me. |
