Buford will have to serve six years in prison for crimes related to wire fraud and carrying a firearm during drug trafficking. Unlike Andrew Taghon, who was sentenced Wednesday in the same court in on related charges, Buford spoke in court, apologized to his family and said something good would come from this. “I was an outstanding police officer for 15 years,” he said. “I did a lot of good for my community.” Federal authorities have yet to decide where Buford will serve his sentence.
