We are a town of 1100. We just voted on local seats. The majority of votes were less than 100 people combined, i.e. local alderman wins 55 for - 45 against.

The main issue is that the losers almost all want a recall!

Is this the new norm? if you are unhappy with the results, contest?

We'll spend (waste) more money on the second countings than the first!

Welcome to small town America or are you guys dealing with this too?

No Kidding!  We are dealing with it at the State Level with Gov. Walker.  I call Sour Grapes.    It's like a children playing a game or something.  The losers want a rematch/do over rather than accepting the loss.

Do they want a recall or a recount? A recount is pretty normal with a close election.

I agree, It seems that the Democrats have had control of the state and were able to do what ever they wanted to do, its like someone took their ball away and now they are pouting because they can't get their way.  I just wish that the tax payers shouldnt have to suffer the burden by paying for another election. What is happening to this country, this is just another case of the Pussification of America.

This.  With 100 votes, it shouldn't take long.

This.
Along with the fact that the Dems/Libs beieve that for a Republican/Conservative there MUST have
been fraud. Since the Republicans are soooo evil, they must have committed fraud in order to
win the (any) election.
On that note, has anyone else noticed that the Republicans aren't just wrong, or they don't just have
a different opinion, or a different vision for America, they are and must be EVIL?
It is this way because this justifies anything and everything in an effort to defeat them.

That's what makes Leftism so dangerous. The nominal philosophical underpinnings of charity/welfare/wealth transfer/socialism are seen as "good", "fair", and "helpful", and people who oppose "helping others" must be evil.

And if you're fighting evil, anything is justified, right?

This is why various kinds of Leftist, Socialist, and Communist governments have been the worlds largest mass-murderers.

One recall and the rest were recounts.

Doesn't one have to serve some amount of time before the bitching starts?

For Governor, it was a year, don't know how other areas of city or county government would be.

Lets see, they only need 25% of the total number of votes cast to force a recall, and the only other requirement is the office holder to have served at least 1 year, so if the incumbent won 100-0, the challenger only needs 25 signatures from any Joe with an address in the district to force a recall. This state is messed up.

My wife was working on her garden the other day. A neighbor couple that just moved in, and their young daughter(about 7), were going for a walk and stopped to talk. This couple is rabidly liberal Dem (thankfully the only ones in the neighborhood), and immediately put up their "Recall Walker" yard sign bullshit.

My wife said "Welcome to the neighborhood".

My wife then asked the little girl "How's your new school?"

The little girl told my wife that she's studying real hard. Her parents beamed with pride.

My wife asked "What do you want to do when you finish school?"

She replied "Become President of the United States".

"Why?" asked my wife.

"So I can give money and houses to the homeless", she replied. Her parents were even more proud.

My wife said "You don't need to become President to do that. I'll help get you started. If you pull these weeds, rake that lawn, and sweep that driveway, I'll give you $50. You can then go into town, find a homeless person, and give him the $50 for food".

The little girl thought for a second, then said "Why doesn't the homeless man pull the weeds, rake the lawn, and sweep the driveway... then you can give him the $50?"

"Welcome to the Republican Party" said my wife. I began laughing uncontrollably.

The neighbors left in a huff.... never even said goodbye.

In the unlikely event the recall is successful... I'll be ready to sign a recall petition on any Dem that takes over, in another year. What's "good for the goose, is good for the gander". Two can play that game. "F" 'em. We can have yearly elections if that's what they want.

What pisses me off is the Dems' commercials saying "We need to take our State back". "Back" from whom? The majority of voters who elected Walker? And Barrett's ad saying that Walker's attitude is "my way or the highway". WTF??? Hasn't he ever heard of Jim Doyle, the "veto happy King" of WI?

That's a classic joke.  Maybe we should start gathering recall petitions against any Democrat right now, just in case.  Just seems that the libs/dems are so much more skilled at organizing and pulling this stuff off.  Republicans/conservatives just don't rally together on a scale that could even compete.  We all just patiently wait for election days and never actively gang up and stir the political pot.  Am I wrong?
