Earlier this AM I posted a thread about a good deal on some AR-15 mags. My article was deleted and edited by the Moderator with the following statement: I just got this email from <deleted> As I understand it that vendor was removed as an Industry Partner from AR15 by site staff/management and will not be getting free advertising on the board. -Phil_in_Seattle First of all I know nothing about the internal politics or relationships of "Industry Partners" on ARFCOM. I was not trying to get some back door free advertising for this company. All I was trying to do was let people know that I got an ad for a good deal on some AR-15 mags. PERIOD!!!! For the record: This fiasco reeks of politics and I have no desire to get involved in that kind of shit. Rant Over! |
 Is the subject of this rant: 1) That you think the post should have remained 2) That you think you are being "punished" for not know about that vendor If it is 1) and you don't want to research it on your own as I advised in the thread locking note I'm sure that site staff will be happy to confirm that posts advertising that vendor aren't appropriate. If it is 2) I assure you that there is no "punishment" for not knowing the inner workings and drama of AR15.com. The 5 cent tour of the deal with that vendor is that he sold an SKS calling it a Chinese SKS "Vietnam Bring back" when in fact it was clearly not, being import marked on the barrel. The customer, a board member, could not get it resolved with the vendor and posted it on AR15.Com. Ar15.Com staff tried to mediate between the two parties witht he final resolution being something along the lines of the vendor telling the customer and AR15 "Go pound sand" Removal from AR15.Com followed. |
His name is Phil, and I am Derrick. There's no covert or separating hierarchy here. Both of us are fallible, approachable, and reasonable. I wasn't aware of the story either RedDawg, or I'd have edited when I read it first too.

If'n ya ever want to find out who to yell at when your post is locked/edited... Here's what I do First, if it's edited, look at the edited post: You'll see it says "Last Edited:: 9/13/2006 8:55:50 AM PDT by Phil_in_Seattle"  Next, at the System Message LOCK at the bottom of the thread you'll see it says: "Last Edited :: bla bla bla by Phil_in_Seattle"   Then give them grief directly! Arfcom, it's fun and educational! |
