I'm going to be visiting my uncle in Pittsburgh and we need a good place to go shoot...

We are looking for a good range that allows the use of rifles (.223).

We used to go to the "Bullseye" range but, it is closed...

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

I just got done looking at about 40 ranges on www.wheretoshoot.org

Is there anywhere that can accomidate black rifles that isn't members only?

you could try out the pa state game lands, in wexford, its about 10 minutes north of the city, they have a 100. 50, 25 and a 10 yard range, open to the public and is free

i would offer to bring you to my range but unfortunatly i let me dues expire and am currently looking for a new range. what part of the city are you going to be around,

for what its worth, i have never heard of a range not accepting black rifles, around the pittsburgh area

Three rounds in an AR-15 or HK33 takes all of the fun out of it...

Most of the sportsman's clubs I called frown on EBRs.

The nicer ranges I've looked up only allow pistols...

We are looking for a nice range that will accomodate our .223 EBRs near Pittsburgh...

There has to be someplace around here...

Where do you all shoot your EBRs at?

yeah i here you about the 3 round thing but generaly when i go there i just ignore that rule, you get more crap from the hunters than the range officer

anyway, I  used to shoot at the allegheny riflemens club in the north hills if you want i could take you as i still know a lot of members, they have no issues with EBRs and have no restrictions other than no full auto fire, i think its a 3 dollar dayly range fee,

they have a 100, 50 25 yard rifle and pistol range that goes out to 50,  I heard of some places out in monrovile that go out to 300 but i have not personally been there, so i would not be able tell you about their stance on EBR's

IM me if interested

Sorry but, we will be going shooting every day during our stay...

I don't think that will work.

Is there nowhere else to shoot EBRs in Pittsburgh?

I think you've got 4 options:

1) Gamelands
2) Uncle joins a club and takes you as a guest
3) You join a club and take Uncle as a guest
4) Anthony Arms

My club down here in Elizabeth (Elizabeth township sportsman's assn.) lets you do about whatever you want. Except full auto.. though the phrase they use is "maintain controlled fire". and no stupid 3 round rule as most other ones around here have.

Pistols only and, "You must purchase ammo from Anthony Arms at all times. Our ammo is factory full metal jacket. Prices will vary depending on caliber."

That's what I thought...

You all sure are deprived up North.

I'd never have a hard time finding somewhere to shoot down here...

Thanks for the help guys!
