I'm in Los Feliz.. It's near Glendale |
Treetop - I grew up in Simi Valley, graduated from Royal in 1982. Played football with a bunch of TOHS guys at Moorpark College for two years. Moved to T.O. in 1996, near CLU, but moved again last June to Lynn Ranch. Worked at Marty's Hobbies off and on through college from 1983 to about 1987. Always loved shooting, but did not get "serious" about it until the last two years (added to my serious fly fishing addiction!!). Blake |
Oh Snap. I'm friends with Glenn, who's probably running the place now. I went to HS with him, and we were in the same car club for a few years (www.rollerzonly.com). My parent's house was right off of Mountclef, a stone's throw from CLU, and I still know those hills like the back of my hand. Lynn Ranch brings back some memories, too. I had 2 girlfriends on Calle Pecos, one on Camino Manzanas, and one on Camino Dos Rios. I'm pretty familiar with your area. If you stop in at Marty's, ask Glenn about me. I've worked all over that town, the last few years at Phantom Electronics. -Cory Price. |

Lynn Ranch brings back some memories, too. I had 2 girlfriends on Calle Pecos, one on Camino Manzanas, and one on Camino Dos Rios. I live on Camino Flores, right around the corner from any of those streets. Funny, I walk my dogs all over the neighborhood and know all those streets well. I have known Glenn since he was a little boy. He does run the show now, as Marty retired several years ago. I just saw him Saturday when I was in there looking for a few things. I still talk to Marty every so often, either in person or by email. Nice people. |

Treetop, you know any of the motorcycle dealers in the Ventura area? Kevin at TO Honda is a friend, Pete at Cal-Coast in Ventura is a friend. When I was stationed at Point Mugu Portero Road was my backyard. Rides to the Rock Store and all around the Malibu hills were manditory! My favorite ride was to meet the guys in Oxnard, then head to The Rock Store via PCH and Latigo. Eat breakfast, then ride Mulholland to Hwy 23 to Moorepark, the up Balcom Canyon to South Mountain to Hwy 150 up to Ojai, then Hwy 33 on up to Lockwood Valley Road, stop in Fraizer Park for lunch. Head back down Lockwood Valley Road to Hwy 33 to Santa Ana Rd in Ojai, back down through Ventura and then (for me) back to Mugu. Damn friggin Kalifornication, you can "share lanes" on a bike all day long but you can't own an AR15. ![]()

My old work was right across the street from T.O. Honda, Then moved 2 doors east of them. I don't really know any of the guys there, though. Seems like Kevin was a service manager or something? I used to make the trip from Northern T.O. down to the Rock Store and back on a little Yamaha YSR-50! Those were the days, having to bring 2-stroke oil with me so I could premix on the return fill up... |
Cool. Last I heard he was doing pretty well, I hope that's still the case. I'm doing great here, I've never been happier. |
El Monte, Calif. San Gabriel Valley area, Valley Blvd & Baldwin.
Yep, the 91 FRWY is the only major freeway that connects the Riverside/Corona(where people live because of reasonable housing prices) area with Orange County(where the jobs are) area. I made the mistake of trying to go east-bound on the 91 at the 57 & 91 FRWYs a few years ago, when I was working in Orange County. Man, it took me something like 30 minutes to go 5 miles. |

I really want to say HI! I'm from Long Beach, but I live in Dallas now... Sorry, had to rub it in... every day is a gun toting holiday! CHL (as Texans call CCW's) are easy to get. Your CHL allows you to carry anything you want, as many as you want. As a regular person, without an CHL, you can carry a loaded shotgun or rifle in your car or on your person, concealed or in open display... its amazing. If you have a CHL, guns are cash and carry... all guns... No assault rifle BS laws here. Hope ya all are doing great. I miss LA, but I don't miss the gun laws... Take care, |

Hi all...I go to school in San Diego, but I'm currently in Hollywood, recuperating at my mom's place due to a back injury. Anyone here around San Diego? Except for the military, NO ONE is into guns, and all my friends have deployed so.....It's kinda lonely at the range when I go down! Anyway, I'll be in Hollywood for at least another 2 months, anyone interested in a get together? Where's your favorite gun range? Talk to y'all later! Tiffany |
| I've lived in Fresno, Ventura, Whittier, Brea, Bakersfield and Valencia. In '73 moved to Houston, TX and came back in '90 to Koreatown, Echo Park, Silverlake, Fairfax and finally here in Hollywood, by LaBrea & Melrose, and I've lived here for about 7 years! Boy, I must be old! |
Either that, or you're homeless and always "between residences" |
