MI Governor Race - options? (Page 1 of 2)

So far from the less- communist side we have: • Mike Cox - a guy we’ve all known about for years, I’ll have to check on his record. • Perry Johnson - hitting the media hard but I know next to nothing about him other than they really zoom in on the guy’s face in his spots.  • John James - a good guy from all reports, but has been inconsistent on things that would help me categorize him as a true conservative. • Anthony Hudson - I know literally nothing about him. • Tom Leonard - first I’m hearing of the guy. Recent CBS link with names but no platforms. Since the campaigns are warming up for the election, I thought it made sense to get the discussion started. Who’s the most pro-conservative in Michigan with a chance of winning? |

When dems sense the shift to conservative getting the nod, they cross the line in droves in primaries to vote for the weakest candidate so they have a better chance of winning. That’s how Whitmer got her second term after a disastrous first one. I think we were going red four years ago but the lefties hosed us with Dixon and it reduced the entire debate/discussion to abortion rights, which they won easily on. |

Sounds like Leonard is out, so I.will be voting Cox in the Primary. Sounds like our best 2A guy. If James or Perry get nomination, I don't think I could vote for either in good conscience and will probably vote Libertarian, I hate voting for the lesser of two evils. |

Cox pulled out. GOA had to go on Twitter to get James to answer their survey. But I think he got a good grade when he did. I know little about Perry Johnson. What happened to that chick that ran last time against whitmer? |

I'm seeing Democrats using "Trump" and "MAGA" a lot in their ads here in Lansing. They're so mad they think that hate is enough to get votes. They're probably right, but it's interesting that they campaign on a negative. They're telling us what they're against instead of what they offer that's better. One guy is running and using an endorsement from Bernie Sanders as a selling point. When Sanders was running wasn't he like fifth place in the primaries? Even his own party doesn't want him. How is THAT supposed to be a selling point for a candidate? |

Yeah, Cox is on all the ballots- but certainly out of the race. He was my pick. Fellas, I know this is a shit sandwich with pickles on it, but we must put up the best chance to avoid a Governor Benson. That is John James. Sucks to make this a numbers game, but it is what it is. |

I've been keeping track on NBC's website, they're projecting that the dem senate primary will go to El Sayed  . That's scary, the DSA types are excited for him.edit: Interestingly, it looks like Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland counties all went for Stevens. |

So it really doesn't matter if we're not going to get off our asses to vote. Also this Anthony Hudson guy is going to pull a shitload of votes from James. We just need to get used to hearing Gov. Jocelyn Benson. |
