| Anyone in West Tennessee a member at MSSA? if so, do you like it...tell us about it |
|
I am a member, and it's a nice facility. 50 and 100 yard ranges, pistol only range, practical pistol/IDPA range, sporting clays, nice shotgun fields (Trap/Skeet?), archery targets, and a 600 yard rifle range. We even have a semi-regular full-auto shoot (approx. 1/month). Must be a member to shoot, but you don't have to have your own. Most folks will let you try their guns. We have some national class highpower shooters who go to Camp Perry every year. A lot of these folks reload also. A bunch of knowledge under one roof. If you want a tour, gimme an IM. More info HERE. I want to say less than a mile. If you look at a map, you'll see that Canada Road, north of 70/Summer, curves to the west. At the point of it going due west, it changes to Old Brownsville Road at a "Y" intersection. You will make the right (east), and follow Old Browsnville Road about 1/4 to 1/2 mile. There will be a mailbox with "MSSA" on it to your right, and the entrance will be to your left. Go down the road, stop at the railroad tracks, check, and continue on the road until it ends at the clubhouse. DRIVE SLOWLY. As you enter the facility, everything will be to your right. Practical Pistol, Cowboy Action Shooting, Sporting Clays, pistol, and the other 100 and 50 yard ranges. The Trap/Skeet fields are next to and behind the clubhouse, as is the 600 yard rifle range. Go into the clubhouse (right-hand door) and inquire at the desk. They can help you. HKO |

I'm a member too. Outstanding facility and the knowledge base of the membership is remarkable. If you have a question, ANY QUESTION, regarding a firearm, reloading, shotgunning, etc., etc., there is a member there who can help you out. I know the $400 initial membership fee is an "ouch" but there literally isn't a shooting sport that isn't represented at the club. I love it out there and wouldn't let my membership lapse unless I was moving more than 3 hrs away... |
| I look at it this way...it costs me $10 to go to an indoor range for 1 session...so, if i goonly twice a month, the dues pay for themselves very quickly, but if i go enough, the down payment will also be "wiped" if you know what i mean...40 trips@$10, hell, i already shoot AT LEAST once a week...I can't wait! |
