MACHINE GUN MATCH      2/13/05        TONY DEE

A perfect morning for today’s match. A large turnout showed up for an interesting course. A course was set up that consisted of steel, paper and pins. The first run had the shooter bending in some difficult positions to see all the targets. Some penalties were acquired due to several hits on no shoot hostages. The second run was much faster as all targets were engaged in a moving manner. A team event was held after the main match that was very close. We had some media attend this match from CEN TV. This is a new internet TV forum that is very pro gun and video of this match can be seen on the internet at www.cen.tv/shows/sca/sca.html  Next month we will be doing two matches. The first will be the UZI Talk Forum match that will be held on  Saturday 3/12/05 at 0900. This match will be open to all but was set up for members of the UZI Talk board and is for SUBGUNS ONLY. Our regular match will be held on SUNDAY MARCH 13th at 0900. Setup 0800. This is also for SUBGUNS. Hope to see you there.

Here are pictures of the match.

The first course was tricky with lots of firing from cover and plenty of "hostage" targets that had to be avoided. Mag changes were required in the first round so no one used a drum.

First up, our fearless leader, Tony Dee:

Note the correct "pinky out", HK snob, stabilization technique:

Hit the black targets avoid the white:

Beretta:

The cover provided opportunities to shoot ambidextrously:

HKJay with his repaired and upgraded MP5:

A silencer is not necessary but it looks and sounds cool:

Here I go:

Lean forward:

Lean back:

You can see in this photo how tricky it was to shoot the black targets without hitting the white ones.

MP5:

Letting it rip with two shells in the air:

Thompson:

Note the politically incorrect stabilization technique:

This guy had never shot a machine gun before:

Sten:

Rare transferable Walther.

MP5:

Caught the flying shell and bullet impact on this one:

The second course started with shooting 2 clay pigeons on top of posts from cover and then going down "the streets of Mogadishu" an alley with knock down plates on both sides. Finishing up with six bowling pins and a popper.  All bad guys, no hostages to avoid.  No mag change required so the drums came out.

HKJay:

This guy flew in from Maryland with his Mac:

Here I am taking out the clay pigeons:

Clearing the alley:

I have to say blasting all those targets with the Beta mag was fun.

This guy flew in from Pennsylvania to join us.

Walther again:

Next month bullets will fly and the competition will be hot as the folks from UZI Talk.com pay us a visit.

WOW!! I didn't know you EVER took photos of anything BUT H&Ks!! Very, very nice camera work, and anytime you can best HK Jay means you had a really great day...congrats on first in "B" class. I guess sleeping with the score keeper didn't help me much, but I did manage to beat the guy with the seeing eye dog....  he
Anyone wanting to compete in next month's UZI Talk match MUST register on the UZI Talk board prior to the event being held on Saturday , March 12th at 9:00 AM. This is a subgun only match and you do not need an UZI to participate... any subgun is fine so the day's shooting should be very interesting. The entry fees and rules will be the same as our usual match so you regulars know the drill. We have 25 shooters from out of state that have committed to attending and have made room/car reservations so this will be a LARGE event when you factor in the local members joining us. Please plan accordingly with whatever food, drink, and shade you think you'll need . Rex and Ralph Merrel, owners of Vector Arms, are attending this year and should have a couple of their new clones to demo. Vector will also hold a brief lecture on keeping your UZI up and running so we have a lot to look forward to this year.   http://www.uzitalk.com/

Please note that Saturday's UZI Talk match will in no way affect the schedule of the regular monthly SMG match held on Sunday.

There will be a banquet Saturday night at an unnamed Hotel on the Boulder Strip with a cost of $16.00 per person If any of you are interested, PLEASE contact me back channel so we can plan for the correct number of people and I'll give you the specifics.

The folks from UZI Talk will head out to one of the first pits in the Hidden Valley area for their informal shooting activities on Sunday and all locals are welcomed and encouraged to attend. A variety of weapons and targets will be on hand and this should be a great time for all. No start time has been set but I'd imagine setup will begin around 9:00-10:00 Sunday and continue until???

If any of you want to lend a hand ro help out in any manner, contact me back channel. The guys coming from out of town could use one of your extra table to set their guns on and possibly an extrra chair if you have them.

Hope to see you guys there! Tom

Now you now what that choking sound was that distracted you and brought you over to our bay!  Nobody posted the results from the December match, but I have one bad day and everyone notices... It's the score keeper's fault! Good to see you and hope you can make it to the UZI Talk shoot next month.      www.uzitalk.com/

MACHINE GUN MATCH 12/12/04 TONY DEE

A perfect morning for this match. We did a combined Assault Rifle and Subgun match. The first stage required the shooter to neutralize five paper targets with one controlled burst. That proved to be both difficult and fun. The shooter then moved to other stages and had to engage an assortment of steel and paper targets. The Subguns had a slightly different course that also included a long controlled burst on pins. It was a fun course that everyone seemed to enjoy. A two man team event was held after the main match that was good fun. Next month we will be back to a SUBGUN match with a new electric oscillating target. The match will be held on JANUARY 9th at 0900 setup at 0800 Hope to see you there.
