Anyone get their first-time CPL in Macomb County lately? How long was the time period from paper work with the county to gun board review and license receipt?
Just asking because the website says it could be up to 4 months for the process to complete... Next question...how does that reconcile with the law which states it is shall issue within 45 days? If the law states it shall be issued in 45 days and the county sates 4 months due to volume, isn't it on the county to close that gap with additional resources or a faster process? I actually think that Macomb County made the application process very painless and quick. I'm just wondering if that estimate of theirs is accurate. |

Quoted:
Submitted my application 1 May. Gun board reviews 13 July. In the mail next week...so, almost 3 months. I live in Macomb Twp. Just checked the status of my application. The gun board review that was supposed to occur today has been pushed back to the 27th. |

I called the Macomb County Sheriff to check my status, I applied almost thirty days ago now, and they said it may be another two weeks or more before they even send it to the clerk, who then schedules the gun board appointment. Arg. |

One can check on line with Macomb County Clerk Carmella Sabaughs office about your status in the CPL que.
I've heard two months. I also suspect it varies with the time of year and nunber of applicants. I think real CCW reform would be to move the system to where licenses are issued by the Secretary of State, Pistol Free Zones are eliminated with violations reviewed by Law Enforcement and subject to review by a Circuit Court Judge. |
