| Is there anything that works better than the LULA mag loader? I really want to be able to load a whole magazine at a time, not one round at a time. |

Here is a link to a post I did on the AK board a few months back. As stated, there is an AR version of the same loader available. For me, its the only way to go. Hope this helps www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=57451&w=searchPop |

I like the lula mainly because it does away with the stripper clips. The loaders that Rick is talking about are also good but you need to have the ammo loaded on stripper clips first. Having used all 3 methods(the stripper clip guides, ricks loader which is carried by http://www.sportsmansguide.com sku WX2-80402, and the lula) , the lula for the AR is really easy to use and the rounds just drop in with out much fuss. The ak mag version is a bit more picky in that you need to have the round a bit more centered, but it's not a difficult task. Just takes a bit of getting used to. Over all the lula will load a mag in less time that having to load strippers then load the mag. Now on the AK loader that is pictured in the thread can be used without strippers but you have to be a bit careful to get the rounds in there so they will feed. All in all, it's what you like best. |

I think the correct answer has more to do with WHERE you plan on loading the majority of your mags. For loading at home, I love my LULA, and it works great in the field as well. If you're like me, I love to shoot, and I don't like to be bothered with reloading mags at a DBS or other shoot. After seeing rickinvegas's stripper clip loader, I bought one myself. Now, I can load my mags and strippers at my leisure at home, and still "speed load" in the desert or range. Two different systems, and I love and recommend them both. I also have a couple of different loaders for my UZI and M16/9 mags and it's much the same. How much time in the field do you want to spend loading mags? |

back when i had an ar, i had one of these loaders www.gunaccessories.com/TDI/index.asp best thing since peanut butter dump the rounds in, and ZIP a mag loaded just like that. bit pricey at that link, but they work great (or at least mine did) |

This last item mentioned is exactly what I am looking for! Something that will load the mags in a hurry. Although the other suggestions merit my attention as well, I really just want a fast way to load mags in the field for less downtime. I original saw this thing: glocksbr.com/axami/shop.php?grd=109&prd=31 It's way too expensive! The LULA is reasonably priced, but I don't relish the idea of putting rounds on stripper clips myself, and then loading them into the mags afterward. Seems like double the work. Nevertheless, thanks for the suggestions! Has anyone else have any experience with this loader? |

I have a loader like the ones depicted in the link perro provided. I have the one for UZI and M16/9 mags and it works better than great! I also have a stripper type loader for these same mags that was originally designed for the Swede K. It's just about as fast as anything I've ever seen... bar none. BUT, you are required to preload stripper clips and you don't seem to be inclined to do this. As I see it, you either load a round directly into the mag or onto the stripper. Either method takes about the same amount of time, (unless you're using the LULA.)Once loaded on the stripper, it only takes a fraction of a second to transfer the rounds into the mag. Once again, I don't think there's an absolute correct answer to this issue. I own stripper clip loading devices in both 9mm and .223 and they are wonderful but do have limitations. I also own and use a couple of other systems that work very well and I use all of loading devices at different times. I'd be happy to let you try the AR15/M16 Lula and stripper systems I own at the next DBS so you can decide which you like. I'd even let you load a couple of the 9mm mags for me to see if you like it better. Guess I'm just a whore for gadgets and accessories. |

If I could own just one loader for the AR15/M16, it would be the LULA. You'll love it! I still like the stripper clips too, and they both have their place. The offer still stands if you'd like to load a few 9mm mags for me so you can try a variety of loading systems. :) If anyone is interested, I've just ordered some of the Swedish practice ammo to use with the subcal barrel I have in the way, and I'll have some extra strippers for use with the 9mm C3 rapid loader. |
