I have recently purchased a essential arms pre ban lower receiver and a colt 6721 upper. I am patiently waiting for the parts kit so that I can finally assemble it and have some fun shooting. However I am now in the market for some mags. A friend of mine was telling me that as long as you had a pre ban lower receiver you were ok to own post ban high capacity mags (such as pmags). I was just wondering what the law on this was. I was also interested in some 10 rounders for prone shooting and such and I was wondering if those could be ordered new because they were only limited to 10 rounds. Thanks for any info. Brandon |
Sorry, but you're friend is wrong. Regardless of the gun you want to use them in, any mag that holds over 10 rounds has to be pre-ban, in NY. The NY AWB's mag restrictions has it's own section. Yes, you can order brand new 10 round mags for your AR. I hear C-Products has some good 10 rounders. |
