I'm in Oklahoma and have some p-mags for sale on armslist. A guy from Colorado wants to purchase them, he says that its legal for him to purchase them as "parts kits" for rebuilding older magazines as long as I remove the base plate before I ship them to him. Does anyone know if this is correct? I don't want to get either me or him in trouble if I sell them to him.
Thanks |

BUT as others have mentioned here and the numerous other CO mag law threads, no one cares. |
The risk of hassles from shipping a box of plastic and springs is small. If the prospective buyer is shady, it would probably be some "community organizer" or worse a journalist with a grant from Bloomberg
As mentioned above local LE has more important laws to worry about, so far. That said, in your shoes I would still pass on the offer. |

Hypothetically in CO there is potential to walk in to any number of LGS' and locate the same item you have for sale. IF (key word) IF the potential buyer doesn't have enough motivation to get out there and look for them self. You should politely turn them down, as i mentioned there may or may not be stores selling said items. That sends WARNING signals out. The buyer may be a real gun owner or something more nefarious . I don't put anything past a grassroots .org with $50+ million at it's hand. |

Grey area. You can't get in trouble but if he assembles one then he's breaking the law. That being said, it's not being enforced either.
Your call. Personally I'd pass on the offer. There's plenty of places and people in CO that are selling repair/parts kits at the moment. |

There is no "parts kits" exception in the Colorado law. Some people have flogged that idea because such an exception existed in the California magazine law.
As there is a tiny risk that someone buying from you on Armslist is an agent of a LEO, Bloomberg funded group or a news station looking for a story, I'd recommend that you pass. But its your call. |

If it were a member here with some history and a reasonable post count, good feedback, etc, I would sell without a second's thought. Otherwise I would tend to not. But only because I would hate to give ammunition to a shill. NO LEO in any area than Denver Metro would ever even investigate much less make an arrest on UBC or mag limits in CO and even in Denver Metro less than 1/10 would at best |

However, it is not worth the publicity risk - Local TV channel already tried to set up a shop or two. One can just drive across state line and buy all you want so it is not un-obtanium. |
