Just got done ordering 3-30rd magazines from Bushmaster. Bushmaster states they are new and improved. Anyone tried these yet? Along with the mags, I ordered a three mag pouch and a Lula mag tool. I heard the loader works great and the pouch will come in handy. Last week I wasn't thinking about buying magazines until the anti-gunners tipped the scale. I made my phone calls and sent my e-mails to let them know how I felt. Last month I was at Gil Hebards in Knoxville and picked up a couple 30rd magazines for the M&P15. They look standard issue and are marked NHMGT S/42 Hartford Ct. Any information about these?

Those mags are govt issue, the good stuff. True Mil spec with goverment contract, But when you stock up on mags buy more than 2-3 for gods sake..! Hell I know people that buy case at a time = 100, Hell you can ruin 3 at the range in one day, speed loads, drops, ect. then all of a sudden you are not so well stocked up. Just a little insight.

You can never have to many mags!  And that goes for guns too!

That makes alot of sense except for one thing, the cost. I use to have a high paying factory job until Nafta moved it to mexicohas I'd like to get an aluminum one but I want one that is vented and has a sling mount. I installed a steel tube on my Bushmaster thinking I would shoot alot of Highpower but never really got into it. Man that made the front end heavy. I also installed a 2-stage trigger and some match sights (1/2 min clicks and interchangeable peeps). I really like the gun except for the weight.

Ok. So one has the choice of 20 or 30 round magazines to buy. Which do you choose and why?

If you were carrying mags around your waist all day, 20 round mags are better, since they are shorter and lighter, but reduce your overall round count.

However, are 30 rounders better in certain special situations?  When prone, one can rest the longer mag on ground, while shooting a 3-gun event.

Barricaded up in a small cabin surrounded by a biker gang out to kill you and rape your wife and daughters, 30 rounders are infinitely better.

What would you buy? Both?
