Gents,
Over the weekend I shot with a buddy from Mass. He had a factory G19 ... and the trigger pull felt a lot heavier than stock. I don't know how to quite describe it...somewhere between a NY1 and a NY2 trigger pull. It was that bad. I understand Mass has some compliance laws ... what specifically has Mass required Glock to do to make them Mass legal? Modified trigger spring? Connector? Both? Can a Mass resident legally change these parts to factory specs? Thanks! -slut |

Well, since the MA AG banned Glock from selling new handguns to anyone but LEOs in MA (only because LEOs are exempt from the AG Regs), there are no trigger requirements applicable to Glocks for MA "compliance" (since the AG declared all Glocks as "non-compliant"). MA requires a 10# MINIMUM trigger pull for compliance for those few handguns that the AG hasn't objected to being sold in MA. All this BS only applies to MA DEALER TRANSFERS and not to possession or private sales between two MA Residents with LTCs. Glocks can be sold by dealers in MA, but they had to have been mfd prior to 10/21/1998 (grandfather clause in AG Regs) and therefore can have "standard" triggers. Once a MA LTC-holder owns a handgun, they are free to change out any parts they want. |

Glad to help. My Wife and I own 3 Glocks, 2 of which were bought (used) from a dealer and 1 from another LTC-holder. Although I haven't measured trigger pulls, I suspect that all 3 are "Free America" triggers. I know of some people who intentionally installed NY triggers, etc. for whatever reason (that I can't fathom). So there are likely to be some on the market that have heavier triggers than normal. |
