I have a story of a friend of a friend. I don't know the guy from Adam, but I know my friend well and he knows his well so I have full faith in it's validity.
Evidently, this state has some laws that are being abused by cops and judges. Spefically, indecent exposure. What happened is, the guy was at a bar, not drinking, ironically, and when leaving, he had to take a leak, but the bar bathroom had a waiting line. He decided to take care of his business by his car. He had his door open so his junk was blocked by the door and the car. A cop saw what he was doing, not his schlong, mind you, and arrested him for indecent exposure. This guy has no proiors for anything except a couple traffic tickets. He at recently graduated from college. He is 23 or 24 and had recenly had a child. The judge in this case threw everything he could at him including a felony charge, which I guess carries a five year sentence. He has it defered and won't spend any signifigant time in jail, but the worst part is he now has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life! Not to mention, he will be a convicted felon, which carries all the fun stuff everone knows about. So word to the wise.... If you have to take a leak and cannot get to a bathroom, go in your pants, or you will be in the same boat as a rapist or child molestor! BTW: Dan has nothing to worry about due to his Depends!

BTW: It doesn't apply to truck stop rest rooms so Rat and me are still in business. ![]() If the cop wants to push the indecent exposure, being forced to register as a sex offender can happen and that is no joke. I still don't know how you and Rat have avoided being on the list! |

That's messed up. If someone saw his dick then yeah the charge fits but the sex offender part is shit. Usually when people get caught for pissing they get a disorderly conduct charge not a indecent exposure, wonder why they went that route. Liberals... ![]() ![]() Not me, I'm a piss when the time suits you guy |

It's not about right or wrong, it's about making money. They make a lot of cash off of DUIs, suspended licenses, making criminals out of regular citizens, etc. It's all about MONEY in our judicial system. For defense atty's mainly. Those dudes will give you the death of a thousand cuts |

Those dudes will give you the death of a thousand cuts I'll respectfully disagree with that. It's the whole system. If you're arrested by the OCPD, for a suspended license, you'll pay a booking fee of over $100 when they take you to the jail. Then you're guaranteed an overnight stay at a cost of $47.50 regardless if you have someone there to bail you out with the papers in hand when they bring you in. Your bond will be set well over $2K. They'll pile more fees on you than you can pay. That assures them more fines, more arrests, and more revenue when you can't pay them. I found that out not too long ago when I had to bail out a carpenter who made some custom cabinets for me. He was arrested in front of Lowes in Quail Springs where he was coming to meet me.

Just like with the Obamacare fines, how the fuck do they expect their "average" criminal to pay $10k (ish) in fines if they couldnt afford it to begin with and their lack of motovation to get a job is most likely they reason they became a criminal in the first place...... ![]() ![]()

Yeah the system, I'm just talking what I hear as far as rates and such from people.. Most attorneys want $5K up front for any criminal work.
When I went to bond that carpenter out, I was there before they got him to the jail. I couldn't get him out until the next morning. "Check in and check out" takes at least half a day. In this case, overnight.
I had the cash to bond him out but I didn't because of second thoughts. The bondsman told me if I had paid the bond in cash at the jail, court fees and charges would guarantee my money would be gone. It wouldn't matter if it had been $200 or $5000.
I will say the OCPD officer was good enough to put a note on my pick up telling me he was being taken to jail. And good enough to let him call his dad to get his truck so my cabinets and his tools wouldn't be stolen. Reminded me some of them are pretty decent people. |
