I was visiting a family member at his office in a shared space building and apparently Rep. Allen Kerr works down the hall from him. I got to meet Mr. Kerr, but unfortunately, I didn't know who he was until it was over. It was a very brief meeting and I just couldn't process the name/face, nor was I given his title. At any rate, I went ahead and e-mailed him today.
Please tell me what you think of this e-mail. This is my first self written e-mail to Reps/Senators. I've just been using the pre-written form e-mails up to this point, so let me know how I did: Rep. Kerr,
My name is sdailey5. I met you last night in XXXXXXXXX’s office. I did not realize at the time what position you held. Even though I am not a resident of your district/precinct, you did say that you vote for everybody. So, as a resident of the state of Arkansas, your votes do affect me. Therefore, if you are presented with the opportunity and privilege of casting a vote in favor of 2nd amendment rights, I ask that you do so. States such as Utah, Wyoming, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, and South Carolina are said to be introducing proposed legislation that would make any new federal firearms bans unenforceable within the borders of their states. I hope that Arkansas will do the same and I hope that you will cast a vote to support such a resolution. Legislative attacks, such as nonsensical “assault weapons bans”, are attacks on the foundation of our promises to freedom. Removing these weapons from the hands of law abiding individuals such as myself, is not a “common sense” measure, nor does it afford any additional protection to our children. Please take any and all opportunities to cast your votes in favor of 2nd amendment rights and against infringement. Thank you, sdailey5 |

Quoted:
If you live where you do I'm pretty sure he IS your elected representative. I voted for him and you and I live two or three blocks from each other. Unless I'm confused of course. Or there's a dividing line between our homes. I-430 maybe. Yes, he said that I-430 was the dividing line. I'm east of 430 and his district is west of 430. |
