| Why do the flint gun shows suck so bad? I mean One vendor was asking a 100 bucks for a 440 round tin of 7.62x54 ammo. There were russian skses with the schelac stripped and coated with poly that were priced at 450-500. Mosin nagants for 125 when dunhams has them for 79. These morons must wonder why week after week there guns are still there. The only reason to go to them is if you need a part or something. Im never gonna go back its just a waste of gas and money. |

I've often felt and wondered the same thing about the gun shows here in Michigan. If you look at it as a form of entertainment it doesn't seem as bad. A ticket to the movies is going to cost you $8.00 plus popcorn. For me the gun shows have become more of a social event. Most times I end up going with a friend and we do look for deals from the dealers(a.k.a. stealers), but more importantly we keep an eye out for someone walking through the crowd trying to sell something at a good price. Gun shows are also a way to check out and handle some of the new gun related items and then order them via the internet. Speaking of the internet, I think it has drastically changed the way most of us feel about the gun shows. We now have the ability to shop for igun related items 24/7 in the comforts of our homes. Before the internet I used to watch the papers and hope that Bill Goodman would advertise when he was having a show(about 5 times a year). Now it seems like there is a gun show at least 3 weekends a month. John |

Any more the gun shows around these parts are a joke. I think the internet has made us all better informed buyers. About the only show I go to anymore is Birch Run, and I only go there to purchase ammo from AmmunitionStore.com. I honestly don't understand how some of those guys can keep hauling the same overpriced stuff to show after show. I have a good friend of mine who sets up at most of the shows, selling brass and small parts. He has told me repeatedly how some of the dealers will go around before the show opens and try to "price fix" certain items. He just laughs at them and tells them if they don't like his low prices, to just buy him out. As a result, he usually does pretty good. |

The only time I'll go to a Gibraltar show is when it's in Taylor and I know that Scott from AZone is going to be there. He always has the latest and greatest tactical gear and has always treated me fair. Other than that, I have the highest level of hatred for the Gibraltar shows. I've often thought that it was the every other weekend show at Gibraltar that has ruined it for all other gun shows. Seems like they turned it into more of a flea market with all the non related firearms items. John |
i am always there for the ccw classes... i know scott well, he is a good guy, sells the top quality stuff too |

The Gibralter Shows (Taylor & Mt Clemens) have litterly priced themselve into the Dumpster. They charge outragious prices to Park, Enter and then Purchase from Vendors (the table prices are too high so the vendors pass it to us). There used to be a Guy "Rick" from some place near Buffalo NY who had the cheapest prices on ammo around. I don't know if he still does the shows, because I refuse to go there because of the High Prices. |
