Does Michigan allow:

1) MGs?
2) SBRs?
3) Silencers?
4) Destructive Devices?

I heard MGs are allowed and state laws were recently changed to also allow SBRs.

Lookin' to bring some civilian NFA to the UP this summer.
Please fill me in.
Thanks!!

Actually, the correct answers are yes to all the above, but with an asterisk by the SBR's and Suppressors. SBRs/SBSs are legal if they are C&R guns. They are also legal for LE agencies. They are not legal for normal citizens or dealers. Suppressors are legal for dealers and LE.

Related question, what is the process to get approved for a MG here in Mich?  Also, an MP5 or similar, being a short barrel, is that a no go because the bbl is under 16" or is it allowed if registered as a pistol?  Sorry to highjack...

The process is the same just like any other nfa friendly state.  Must complete the form four process. If your asking about a fa mp5, then you can have any barrel length you wish.  Mg status trumps sbr.

Does anyone in here own a DD, and if so what kind and what process did you go through to get it?

Yes. Dd is same process as any nfa transfer. The trick is getting it transferred into the state. Since there are no dd dealers in mi, it will need to go to a class 3 dealer and the atf only allows us 1 dd per year.

For that matter, it can go to any FFL including a non-SOT.  It would just have to go as a tax-paid transfer.  Add an extra $200 to your total cost.
